The first Institute under Pragati Group was founded in 1996 in a rented building. Two years later the school was shifted to a wholly owned complex. During the following decade one more school, two Teacher Training Colleges; one especially for women, and an STC Institute was established. After another half-a-decade, the growing reputation of the institutions, and the need for meeting the rising demand for one more school founded on the same philosophy made the setting up of Pragati School an inevitable necessity.
